Why Life Can Be Such A Confusing, Mixed Bag Of Results

“I don’t understand it.” my friend Victoria slowly shook her head in confusion, “Everything was going so well and then this hit me. Why is life such a mixed bag?” Wow, what a question! I had to think on that one for a second. “Well, what usually happens is people are keeping a mixed bag in their mind”, I said. “What does that mean?”  Victoria asked as she stabbed the last tomato in her salad with her fork. “It means that the Law of Attraction matches whatever we give it and if you give it a mixed bag of vibrations, it’s going to match all of them. For example, if you were in a good mood on the way over here but someone cut you off in traffic and you got mad, you’ve just given the Law of Attraction 2 separate vibrations to match…feeling good and anger. And the thing is, it will absolutely match them both.”

Tilting her head to one side, Victoria thought about what I had said and slowly answered, “Well that makes sense but how can I possibly keep from bouncing around in my thoughts? I mean, when something makes me mad or upset, I just react.” I nodded and replied, “Yeah and that’s the problem. What you need to do in the future is catch yourself when you find that you’re reacting negatively. Just ask yourself this one question when you’re feeling upset. ‘Do I want this experience to pop up 2 weeks from now?’ If the answer is no, you know it’s time to start working on changing how you feel.” “It’s not always that easy” she said.  “Sometimes I’m so caught up in the moment…I can’t help it.” “And that’s where being conscious of what you’re doing comes in”, I replied. “Once you get used to doing this, you’ll automatically stop and assess the situation and you’ll find that life becomes less of a mixed bag.” “But my life won’t be perfect and without problems, right?” Victoria asked with a hint of disappointment. “Right but the key to handling life’s challenges is in not dwelling on them in a way that upsets you. Otherwise, you’ll just attract more of the problem. Instead, find the lesson inside the challenge and keep your mind and emotions focused on what you would rather see happen.” “Again, easier said than done”, she said flatly. “Not if you make it into a game”, I said. “Let yourself pretend like you did when you were little. Really imagine what life could be like but don’t do it in a longing way where you feel like it’s only a dream that will never come true. Imagine like you mean it!” Victoria laughed and said, “Ok, I think I can do that. I’ll give it a try!”

Life presents us with so many mixed results simply because we tend to have mixed results in our mind. Consider how many times you jump from thought to thought and feeling to feeling in a given day. Every single time you place your attention on a new thought or feeling, the Law of Attraction MUST match it. So becoming more aware of your thoughts and emotions and using the imagination technique I shared with Victoria helps limit the “mixed bag” effect and brings you more positive consistency.

All the best!
